Seven Questions Answered About Happiness and the Meaning of Life

All of us have questions about life, myself, yourself, life after death, meaning. So I thought I would pose seven questions and give my answers to those questions and see if you care to resonate with those questions and answers.

You may not agree. That’s fine. What I hope this article will do is stimulate interior conversation within yourself. Maybe even external communication with relatives and friends. All this so that you can come to your own conclusion, your own answers. Thereby I believe you will generate for yourself a better life. Here goes.

The remainder of the text for this post is immediately following this video pane:

1. Do I have a soul? Yes, I believe you have a soul. Some will call it spirit. Perhaps it has many others names. Your soul is the really real part of who you are.

2. What is a soul? There seems to be some part of every human being that is beyond the physical body. The physical body is, after all, something of a bio-machine. That is, it is fueled, runs and produces exhaust. It only carries around the soul for the length of its days.

It is this soul that truly is you. I believe it is eternal, reincarnating into physical bodies over, perhaps, vast amounts of time as we reckon time. The soul is more than consciousness though consciousness is how we interact with the Grand Consciousness of the Universe. Your soul is the spiritual connection you have with the Universe.

3. Am I more than my mind? Yes, you are mind, body, soul (spirit). However, do not fall into the trap that so many have. While you are in your physical body you do not have three separate parts of mind, body, spirit. You are one in a unity that includes three ways of perceiving your present reality.

Your mind is affected by your body and soul. Your mind is part of the great Cosmic Mind that knows all things and is experiencing all things through you and all. Let me put it this way: you are more than your brain. It has been shown that your electromagnetic field extends to about 7 or 8 feet in all directions. It may be through this field that you make contact with the Great Mind.

In that Great Mind is stored all knowledge. This knowledge is available to you and to all humans. It just needs to be remembered. My point here is, your mind stretches the length and breadth of the Universe.

4. Am I more than my body? I think I have begun to answer this question in the previous answer. For example, your heart is made up of 60% to 65% neural cells. The physical of you is connected the mental of you. The mental of you is connected to the spiritual of you. Never believe for one moment that you are three separate parts. You are a unity conveniently ascribed parts for better understanding.

The body dies, but the soul does not. It is transmigrated through countless bodies until you have experienced all you wish and reached the level of enlightenment meant for you to attain. So, yes, you are more than your body.

5. Am I more than the sum of my parts? First, get rid of the notion that you are parts. While in this earthly plane you are a singularity.

But beyond that, you are more than the sum of your parts. Take an athlete who wishes to win a race. You train your body. But you also use your mind by visualizing finishing first. Then there is the fuel you have and can use that stems from your connection and resonance with all of life through your soul.

Leaving out any one of these aspects of yourself can lead to finishing second instead of first. Put them altogether and you have an entity that is greater than the sum your “parts.”

6. Is there life beyond life? At least two of the great religions of the world, Islam and Christianity, and a great philosophy, Buddhism, believe there is more to life than these few short years on earth.

Farther than religion though, we have studies such as the ones made by those who study Near Death Experiences and Regression of Souls, who unequivocally say there is life beyond life.

I believe so as well. There is just too much evidence built up over thousands of years testifying to the idea that there is life after life to ignore it.

It is said that the Buddha, having come to enlightenment, could look back over 100,000 lives. It seems that in terms we can just about grasp, we, that is our souls, live forever.

7. For what purpose do I live? You live to experience. A simple statement that covers so much. The Great Consciousness is just that – pure consciousness. As such it cannot experience.

But it wishes to know what Its thoughts would be like if they could be lived out. So we have taken residence in physical bodies to experience. It is in what we perceive as physical that we can experience.

But you get a great deal out of experiencing, do you not? Indeed, your whole life, good and bad and everything along that continuum, is based in and on experiencing. The Great Consciousness does not force you to experience anything on Its behalf.

You choose your own experiences. We, humans, are the choice makers. You have a great and joyous task set in front of you. That is to gain the most experience you can allow yourself to have. By the way, the more positive your experience is, the more you actually get out of it.

There you have it, seven questions asked and answered. Discuss them within yourself. Discuss them with family and friends. If these answers do not please you, develop questions and answers that do. That’s what you are here for. Begin now.

The Meaning of Life and Why Am I Here?

The meaning of life can be complicated and simple at the very same time. Perhaps that’s one of the reasons it is so confusing to many folks. It may be that’s the reason so few actually look at the meaning of their lives.

But when something in life causes you to stop, even for a moment, and ask, “Why am I here?” you begin to ponder.

Then, I believe, one of two things occurs, usually. Either you take the time to consider. Or you hide from that consideration by going on with whatever you were doing. Or you quickly invent something to put up a wall so as not to have to consider.

You need not hide. You can courageously consider why you are here? Usually the question comes up when facing something momentous in your life. A career change. A relationship change. Someone’s death. An emotional dead-end. These and many more are serious and anxiety producing thoughts. But their foundation, their basis, is the underlying challenge of knowing why you are here.

Without going into too much detail which you may not want or need at this juncture in your life, you are here to dreamstime_10728665experience. There is an Energy in the Universe (some name it God) that is throbbing with life. But it is unseen, unexperienced life. It literally vibrates all across the spectrum of vibration. You might say it is unseen and unseeable. Well, the Energy has a need to express itself. It has a need to experience what it is. Therefore, it caused pulsations to move to certain speeds where they may be visible, at least to humans. One of those pulsations developed into humans.

We are the manifestations of Energy manifesting itself in the visible. Well, fine. What does that have to do with you? We are the ones who then experience what can be experienced that the Energy be more than vibration.

Don’t get me wrong. The Energy is not using us for Its own selfish ends. The Energy has given us freedom to choose whatever experiences we think we need. No conditions attached. No punishments attend. You are free.

So, the reason you are here is to experience on behalf of the Energy. But with no strings and no punishments, you may joyful go through life doing that which contributes to making you happy. You are here to experience happiness. You are here to be happy.

When you do or be the things that help you feel the happiest, you are fulfilling your purpose in this life. Then you make that experiencing as large or as little as you wish.

Can’t be. Too simple, you say. Nay, this experiencing of life is as simple or complex as YOU wish to make. The Energy accepts all experiencing, without judgment or condemnation. So, go to it. Make the most of your life knowing that you are to experience life. The best tribute you may give The Energy and yourself is a life well lived. Start now.

The Meaning of Life Involves You Finding Happiness

The meaning of life involves you finding happiness. To find happiness you have to know that you are connected to Something greater than yourself. See if this illustration relates.

In front of you there is a delicious looking cherry pie. (Substitute your favorite flavor of pie, if cherry is not. Cherry is my favorite.) Someone then cuts a generous piece out of the whole pie and serves it to a person sitting at table with you. You can ask yourself, how do I know that is cherry pie? (Go ahead, humor me for a moment.) The obvious answer is that it is a piece of cherry pie. The answer is so obvious that is seems almost silly to ask the question. Yet the entire process, asking the question and receiving the answer is of great significance.

That piece of pie we know of as cherry because it came from a whole cherry pie. Like came from like. Well, I say that

Cherry Pie, mmmmmmmmmm

Cherry Pie, mmmmmmmmmm

God is All in All, The Source of All That Is. I say that you (and I) came from God. If God is All, then you are part of the All. You are the All, so to speak. Like coming from like. There is no difference between the piece of the pie and the entire pie, except size.

God is everything and is in everything. Therefore, you are in God and God in you. No difference except maybe size. Do you see what value you have? You are the hands, feet, eyes, ears, etc., of The Source of All That Is. What The Source does, you do. What The Source Is, you are. Do you see the connection?

In this connection is happiness to be found, and, therefore, the meaning of life. You are here for one over-arching, all-important reason. To be happy.

There is no conflict in The Source. The Source is total harmony. The Source is in complete resonance with Itself. In other words, The Source is completely Happy. Your reason for being here is the same. Like after like.

The meaning of your life is to be happy. The reason you exists is to be happy. This is just the first part. There is much more to know about happiness. We’ll explore that together over the next several blogs. But from this happiness comes all your reason to be here. Through happiness you answer the question of “Why am I here?”

Understand today that you are part of the Great Harmony, the Great Happiness. From that base or start, all the rest of life flows into an endless stream of meaning, the meaning of life.
