The Meaning of Life and The Power of Belief

The meaning of life is to be happy. People want to be happy. You want to do the things that bring happiness to you. You want to manifest in your lives the things that come along with happiness. Why isn’t it happening?
First, we need to be clear that happiness is eternal within the human being. You just have to find it. You discover it through meditation by making connection with The Source of All That Is. (Some will name this concept “God.” It does really matter what It is called. It’s just that “God” sometimes has too much baggage to be helpful.) Happiness is found in this Divine Connection with the Cosmic Consciousness of The Source.
But suppose you are on your way to making and solidifying this connection. It is a lifetime process. You can make contact at an early stage, to be sure. But the practice of maintaining that happiness means regular and consistent meditation. On your way, you are supposed to be able to change. You are supposed to be able to manifest in your life the relationships and items that you legitimately desire. Good things.
Why doesn’t it happen? Mostly, greatly, because you have not changed your beliefs. Believe me, I know whereof I speak. I struggled mightily after I made connection with the Cosmic Consciousness to understand why I was not manifesting more quickly. And “quickly” is a relative term. Dr. Wayne Dyer claims, and I believe him, that he manifests things in his life quite soon after the idea occurs to him. For me it takes a while longer.
Why? Because some of my beliefs have not yet changed. Picture this: I was raised believing, being taught to believe that I was not worthy. Both my parents and my religion taught this. It was drummed in my hearing so that I knew nothing else. The word “knew” is operative here. My beliefs were so strong that they were a “knowing.” Knowing is a step beyond belief. You can believe that 2 + 2 = 4. But you certainly can also know it. I “knew” I was not worthy.
To make a long story short, this not-worthiness kept me from believing that things could be better in my life. When I began to change to a believe that I was worthy, first of happiness, then of manifesting, things began to change. It is an on-going battle for me. I must constantly be vigilant that this feeling of unworthiness does not creep back into my belief system. The battle is easier and shorter the longer I work with it. But it is still there.
If you are having trouble finding happiness or trouble manifesting in your life, it may be that you still believe something negative about yourself. A great place for you to find help if you think this is your challenge is The Morty Lefkoe Institute. Morty has made great strides in teaching people, including me, to drop beliefs that are holding them back. I highly recommend Morty. (I get no recompense for this endorsement.)
The power of belief is great. It can override even the best of our conscious intentions if they be at odds with our core beliefs. Check your beliefs beginning now. Find help in changing them if they are robbing you of happiness and manifestation. Don’t let the power of belief stand in the way of the meaning of life for you.
