To Be Happy Is the Meaning of Life – A Third Way to Get There Presents Itself

Think batteries, in terms of the meaning of life. Think rechargeable batteries. Such batteries power everything from penlights to hybrid cars. But their charge of power to provide energy for whatever appliances they are attached to can run out. Rechargeable power cells, of course, can be attached to a recharging source.
You have available such a recharging source for yourself. As a matter of fact, you are already hooked up to It. You are always hooked up to It. And you can take advantage of this recharging source simply by being conscious of It. Yep. Nothing more to it than that.
Many of the rechargeable batteries on the market today have a limited number of times they can be recharged. After so many recharges, they cannot take any more energy. They are then useless and need to discarded in an eco-friendly way. But no so with you. You have the capacity to recharge and recharge, with no limits and no conditions.
But what is this recharge station that we all possess? It is none other than The Source of All That Is. It is very appropriate that we call God here, The Source. For in this blog we are thinking of the power to be happy. The power must come from somewhere – it come from The Source of All That Is.
There is this vibrant Power running through the entire universe. It has been called a number of names because it is so difficult to pin down. In the world of quantum physics, for example, it is sometimes called The Field. The estimate amount of energy in The Field is staggeringly beyond imagination.
But what does this have to do with you? The amount of energy to which you may attach yourself to be recharged is limitless. And the number of times you may be recharged is limitless. You need never run out of spiritual energy. (Yes, the physical body can run low on energy.) The spiritual consciousness within need never run out of power.
Power to do what? Actually, we are better able to ask, “Power to be what? Power to be conscious of your ever-empowering connection to Divine Matrix. In this Matrix lies all the power you will ever need to claim your happiness. When you plug yourself into this power of awareness and understand that this Power supports you in every way possible, (feels like being recharged), you can feel your happiness, your joy at being accepted and loved with and through all this Power. The Power never leaves you, never forsakes you.
As you search for the meaning of life, think rechargeable batteries, think ever-present Power.

To Be Happy Is the Meaning of Life – Here Is Another Way to Get There

When you have found even the smallest amount of happiness within, the meaning of life, there is way to keep it going and growing. After you have learned to focus even just a little, as per the previous blog post, you can turn that focus outward.

Think you are going to lose that focus? That is the common fear among folks, especially if they have just a little focus-ability with which to work. But please do not overly concern yourself. Part of developing focus is to learn to turn it elsewhere. Like the light from a flash light, youflashlight can learn to redirect your “aim.”

There are at least 2 things to be learned here. First, when you concentrate you can hold the focus of your spirit even while illuminated something else. A flashlight illuminates an object outside of its “light-head.” Inside a flashlight’s head there will be found light. But that light is beamed out as well. That light will fall on something else and illuminate that too. So, the power within the flashlight illuminates its head (inside the glass or plastic lens) and  the object upon which the light is beamed. When you practice “beaming out” you become better and better at maintaining your focus within.

Second, you will “brighten the world” just a little when you beam your developing happiness outward. Now to translate into real-life terms. When you have begun to develop a connection with The Source of All That Is, God, through focus and concentration, the next best thing to do is share that “light” with the world. You begin building reciprocity. What you give you have a tendency to get back.

How can a modicum of focus help you do that? Try focusing for a good minute on a loved one (human or pet). This is not a staring contest. (You may not even have to look at the loved one.) It is an exercise in really concentrating on someone else for just a moment. Have you notice the sparkle (or lack of) in your beloved’s eyes recently? Are you really hearing in this moment what you beloved is expressing either verbally or physically? In this moment of concentration you have given yourself over to the Divine Matrix, the Divine Connection that you have with all others. When you feel that connection, you have moved yourself closer to happiness, the meaning of life.

I wholeheartedly invite your comments or questions.

The Meaning of Life Is To Be Happy – Here Is One Way to Get There

Finding the meaning of life by being happy is the raison d’etre of this blog. Once you have accepted that the meaning of life is “to be happy,” as Aristotle claimed it, then the next task is to find the route to that state. As with any pathway to a destination, it all depends upon your starting location.

Each person starts from a different place. I start from the disadvantage point of having been raising with a negative feeling about myself. Someone else may have been raised with one or two abusive parents. A third person might have a very good home life. Another may have lost a parent in childhood which left an indelible mark upon their spirit. On and on.

These experiences causes each of us to look at our world a little or a lot differently. When we put our finger on the map, each will say about a different reference point, “I am here.” So, the journey will look dissimilar to each person undertaking it.

But here is one way to begin. You will find you way. Be determined within yourself that you will be happy. Just like with any journey, you have to decide that you are going. You can’t put this decision off. Tomorrow is not time enough to begin. You are leaving on the journey NOW.

Then you must take the first step. “A journey of 1,000 miles begins with the first step.” Not only must you decide, you must step out. Again, putting this off until tomorrow will not do. Tomorrow is only a forethought. Today you commence or you are already behind.

The first step is what? Mark out some time, say 10 minutes to begin with. Get your body into a comfortable position. Close your eyes. Let your mind wander as it will for about the first 5 minutes. (Your mind will wander anyway, so don’t fight it.) Then concentrate on one object you produce in your mind. It can be a red rose or a big toe. The object itself is not important. The concentration is the thing. Focus on your object. Your mind will wander. Gently bring it back to the object; be careful not to scold or blame your mind for wandering. Do this for about the second 5 minutes.

That’s not much, you say. Perhaps, perhaps not. But you have taken that first step of finding your way to this moment. When you have fully discovered one moment, you have accomplish a great distance toward happiness. Of course, this is not the last step you will take on your journey to happiness. But is a very significant beginning in finding the meaning of life.
